2026 Goals, Intentions, and Big Changes
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day (sing it with me!)...and I’m feeling good!
A new year is upon us, and that always comes with a new set of intentions after some reflection. It’s no different here at Give Them Romance. We’re setting the stage for our best, most successful, and lucrative (cha-ching!) year yet. To get there, we first had to identify what was working, tap into what we genuinely enjoy as writers, and clarify what we want as business partners and BIPOC romance authors. We realized that our desires have shifted, not just as writers, but as grown women with full lives.
So, what’s changing, what’s remaining, and what’s coming up? Keep reading.
New romance novella by Sujeiry
Our last published romance novella was Yoanna by Sujeiry Gonzalez, the second steamy romance novel in her Heights of Love series. Heights of Love follows a tight-knit group of friends in NYC navigating ambition and desire. The series centers bold, multicultural women who embrace sexual freedom and always decide how their happily ever afters end.
Sujeiry is publishing the third novel in the series, Reina, March 2026. Reina follows a 45-year-old single mom who has finally dumped her off-again, on-again partner of over 20 years. The story dives into her journey to self-love and self-acceptance, while depicting her steamy escapades as a voluptuous woman in midlife. Reina is getting her groove back in NYC and beyond, and learning to love herself and her full-figured body.
New romance novellas by Kayla
Author Kayla Love is completing her Bliss Bay Romance series this year by following the journey of two more multifaceted and authentic Black women refusing to settle for struggle love. Like their predecessors, their paths will take them to Bliss Bay, the fictional beach town outside of New York City, where the salty air and steamy nights provide the perfect backdrop for sparks to fly like Fourth of July fireworks.
The fourth book in the series, Ellerie, will drop Summer 2026, and follow the journey of a 41-year-old woman at a crossroads. After leaving her career and a relationship gone awry, the idea of starting over is daunting. As she considers her next chapter, someone unexpected shows up and forces her to reckon with what living for herself really means.
More to come on Imani, which will be released Holiday 2026. Stay tuned!
More free short romance reads
This year, we pivoted from writing relationship-centered articles and listicles to sharing free short romance reads, and we loved it! Apparently, so did all of you. We’ve received incredible feedback, especially about our most recent SantaCon-inspired holiday romance.
Standalone short romance reads
The more we write, the more confident we become as romance authors. Our stories are valuable and worthy of being seen, devoured, and monetized. In 2026, Give Them Romance is prioritizing not only the sale of our bingeable romance novellas, but also the short romance reads we share through our newsletter.
You’ll still have access to free romance reads. However, if you want the full completed story, and even a pick-your-own-ending twist, you’ll be able to purchase them as standalone titles, no monthly membership required.
A new platform
Speaking of monthly memberships, we’re moving from Substack to Patreon to offer more flexibility in how you, as subscribers, can support us. On Patreon, you’ll still have access to our free romance content, just like on Substack. The biggest change is that you’ll be able to purchase our full romance ebooks in one shot.
If you want access to quarterly romance ebooks, stories, and exclusive news, you can opt into a recurring monthly membership. We’ll be offering two paid tiers, along with a free membership, and we’re still working out the details.
What happens to Substack?
Listicles and relationship-centered articles are coming back. They performed really well, so we’ll be focusing this newsletter on that content.
Do I have to do anything?
Nope. We’ll move everyone over to Patreon easily and seamlessly.
So, that’s what’s changing, what’s staying, and what’s coming up. Let us know what you think in the comments and what you’re calling in this new year. Let’s go, 2026!
