I Almost Made Love in an Elevator at a Holiday Party
When the holidays come a-knocking Candi gets extra frisky. (And she doesn't even need a mistletoe.)
Hey! I’m Candi! Although now I’m engaged to my amazing, sexy AF fiance Joel, my love life has been pretty messy. And I’m not afraid to share it and laugh at myself! So, sit tight and enjoy the ride. Cause what had happened was…I almost made love in an elevator at a holiday party.

“All I want for Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaas is youuuuuuuuuuu!” I belt out Mariah Carey’s Christmas anthem in front of the bathroom mirror. Fire engine red lipstick on point, thanks to the makers of Wet & Wild, I blow a kiss at my reflection.
“Ok, Candi.” I begin my pep talk. “Get out there and sing this song like you’re the Dominican Mariah. You got this!”
I step out of Tortilla Restaurant’s bathroom and scan the room to find Robert, the host of tonight’s holiday party. My eyes stop at the bar. “There you are!” I say to myself. I smooth out my red velvet Mrs. Claus outfit, a requirement to get the singing gig, and confidently strut toward him. He looks over his shoulder and waves me over. I wave back, smile wide, and suddenly, feel myself wobble. Robert’s eyes widen as I slip on a lemon wedge and land on my back.
“Are you okay?” A man in a black suit and bow tie rushes to my side and lifts me off the floor while still holding a serving tray of hors d'oeuvres.
I shake my head and peer into his large, baby-blue eyes. “You’re my hero,” I gush.
He laughs and flashes a megawatt smile. “You must have hit your head pretty hard. I’m just a waiter,” he whispers with a wink.
“Candi! Are you okay? Do you need a doctor? IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?!” Robert waves his hands around dramatically, shouting at the room.
“I’m okay…” I whisper, smiling goofily at the waiter.
“Help her!” Robert cries at the waiter while grabbing me by the elbow. They lift me to my feet.
Robert stands inches away from my face, peers into my eyes, and asks shakily, “Candi, can…you…still…sing?! This holiday party must go on. And I did hire you…”
His voice trails and I nod, understanding the mission. I take my singing career seriously and Robert is a connected theater director. He’s also really cheap, which is why he hired a no-name singer from Washington Heights, thanks to Joel, my best friend, Yo’s, twin brother. Joel is a marketing genius and worked with Robert to promote his latest off-Broadway show, This Is Who I Am Now. He recommended me to Robert to perform at this year’s annual Christmas holiday party. I have to kill this.
“Let me just freshen up in the bathroom,” I reassure Robert. He sighs with relief and makes his way back to the bar.
“Can I help you with anything?” The waiter asks in a deep and breathy voice.
“Actually…” I cock my head to the side and bite my lip.
His eyes twinkle with mischief and he grabs my hand. “I know where we can go.”
“Wait! What’s your name? Or should I just call you Baby Blue…” I flirt as he leads me to the back of the restaurant, past the bathroom, and toward the elevators.
He looks over his shoulder at me and winks. “You can call me whatever you want.”
I giggle, excited by the spontaneous moment and the warmth in my nether region. Baby Blue grabs a badge from his back pocket and waves it in front of the wall panel. The service elevator door opens. He walks in first, pulls me inside, and grabs me by my plump ass. His lips touch mine. Our tongues intertwine.
“Wait!” I giggle between nibbles. “The elevator doors are still open.”
“So…” he murmurs as he slides my thong to one side with his fingers and finds my nub. He massages my clitoris in a slow, steady, and circular motion, and I moan. I cry as his digits penetrate and he shoves his face into my neck, licking and sucking it inch by inch.

“Candi Cane?!”
“Joel!” I shout, stifling a moan as Baby Blue gets me closer to orgasm. I come to, realizing what's happening, and wiggle myself away from him.
“Hey,” I say, cooly, brushing my curls away from my face as I turn toward Joel.
“Robert is looking for you,” Joel says with a frown on his face.
“Oh shit! I gotta go!” I say to Baby Blue, planting a kiss on his lips before jumping out of the elevator. I speedwalk toward the stage, Joel matching every step beside me.
“A waiter, Candi?” I can hear his judgemental tone.
“So? Why do you care?” I lash out.
“You can do better.” Joel grabs me by the elbow mid-step, slowing me down, before pulling me into his chest.
I peer into his eyes and feel my heart flutter. “Stop playing, Joel. I have to get on stage.” I whisper.
“So go.”
I lick my lips and lean into him, our chests pressed against each other. We stand there in silence for what feels like hours as people swirl around us, and I wonder if our innocent, flirtatious relationship of over 15 years is more than meets the eye.

“Candi! There you are!” Robert shouts, snapping me back to reality. He grabs me by the hand and leads me to the stage. As I grab the mic and begin to sing, I feel like I’ve been pulled away from what I may truly want for Christmas - Joel.
